The Song of Life is Played

I could have led a thousand lives,
But see the one I’ve made;
A choice of jobs, a choice of wives,
The song of life is played.

With choice comes change, thus notes we add
That build on those before;
Whether the song be good or bad
‘Twas me who wrote the score.

With just one chance to write my song
With notes that stay on key,
The need for prayer is, oh, so strong
For composers such as me.

For often times my untrained ear
Could a master’s help enlist;
Through prayer I know He’s always near
And willing to assist.
