the warrior

My father wrote this and sent it to me while I was serving as a missionary in South Africa.

With your feet upon the pedals
And your hands upon the grips,
May you ride out every morning
With this song upon your lips:

“Praise the Lord for all the chances
I’ll have this day to speak
The Gospel’s simple message
To the humble, poor, and meek.

With the sword of truth and justice,
And with God’s own battle plan,
I will slash away at error
And free each willing man.

May the Holy Spirit guide me
In all I say and do;
And the glory of the victory,
Dear Lord, I give to you.
