Through Endless Paths

It wasn’t today, though it seems to be,
You walked and talked and laughed with me.
Although you’ve died you’re still not gone,
Your life with me continues on.

When I was young, and as I grew,
I tried so hard to be like you;
You gave your life, you formed a man,
From babe to boy to what I am.

The times we had, the things we said,
The laughs we laughed, the tears we shed;
The many times when our hearts met,
As life goes on I won’t forget.

Sure, there’s regret for things unsaid,
For moments unused that now have fled;
But, as God lives, our time’s not through;
Through endless paths I’m sealed to you.
